Fancy Footwork

While wandering around York during MIST, a friend and I came across some break dancers.  They were practicing for their friend's birthday party (what an awesome gift!), so we stopped to watch.  I was lucky that they didn't mind me taking some pictures while they practiced.  I've always enjoyed taking pictures of dancers!  I remember back in high school, I attended a conference (while volunteering with the hospital) and they had break dancers there.  I had a small point and shoot (a little Canon with the drop-in film) but it didn't stop me from snapping up some pictures of the dancers.  It was difficult to capture all the movement with that camera because point and shoots are slow, but it didn't matter!  In any case, it was so much fun watching them practice, while taking these pictures.  They were very impressive!  Who knows, maybe even some of them will make it big!

MIST 2012 pt 1

MIST is always so much fun, and I look forward to it every year!  It makes me so happy, and when it's over, it feels makes me so sad.  The energy from the students is contagious; at times, you just want to scream and cheer with them!  I know I can cheer with the best of them, but I usually try to contain my excitement (though sometimes, I'm not sure why).  Anyway, here are some of the photos I took.  I can't wait until MIST Nationals!  It should be a blast!

Umar's Photoshoot

My friend Umar asked me to take some pictures of him a while ago and I FINALLY finished editing them.  As usual, it was fun taking these, plus I got a meal out of it so that was a bonus!

Casa Loma

I recently substituted at a school and they were going on a trip to Casa Loma; I was lucky enough to be allowed to go!  I had never been, but I had heard it was beautiful so this was a real treat!  Not only was it beautiful, there was so much history in those halls!  I had so much fun, and kept forget that I was there with students; not as a photographer!  I would love to go again though because I still feel I didn't get to see everything.  Another time I suppose.
